Calling all competitive eaters, and those who love the sport!

Always a favorite event at the festival, The World Deep-Fried Asparagus Eating Championship is set for Saturday, April 16th at 12:00pm on the main stage. This will be the 6th year of the event. Do you have the stomach for it?

If you feel brave enough to take on the likes of Joey Chestnut and Pat “Deep Dish” Bertoletti and come on down and chow down. Spots are now available to the public so if you want to take on the big boys in this contest, make sure to sign up now. Spots are going fast!

Last year  Joey Chestnut made good on his promise to regain the World Deep-Fried Asparagus Eating Championship title at the 25th Annual Stockton Asparagus Festival. The #1-ranked Chestnut ate 8 lbs 7 oz of the deep-fried asparagus spears to win his fifth asparagus title in six years.

Not only does the winner get to walk away with the title of World Deep-Fried Asparagus Eating Champion they will also receive a cash prize of $1,500.  Runner up and third place winners will receive $750 & $500, respectively. Do you have the mental and physical ability to take the title this year?
